Pre-Moving phase
Pre-move consultation - After you have called and talked to us you can then set up an appointment. We come to your home we listen to want your goals are and how you want us to help you. Based on this information we will explain how we can facilitate your move. Timeline and schedule planning - A good plan helps a move run smoothly. We have developed a check list that has many details included so that nothing is missed. We go through the checklist with and you decide who is to do what and when it is to be done. After we are finished you have a complete plan for your move. De-cluttering - A to Y Organizers will de-clutter and slim down all that “stuff” that has built up over the years in your house. Not everything from your old home needs to make it to your new one. For those things you may not want to keep we can donate your items and give you an itemized tax deduction list. As we de-clutter and organize we can pack some of your items for the move so you can put them in storage so that your home will look bigger when you put it on the market. We can arrange for storage and get those items stored for you. Organizing - Pre-move organizing can take a lot of hassle and stress out of moving day. We can go through and put everything in its place so that it makes sense now. By being organized before you move it makes putting your possessions in your new home much easier and faster. For example: placing shoes in clear shoe boxes looks good before and during the sale as well as keeping them undamaged during the move. They can also go straight into your closet in your new home and you already have an organized feel. Getting pantries, closets, drawers, as well as many other areas organized before the move can make a world of difference for the sale and when settling in later. Donations - We can help you donate your items and give you an itemized priced list for your income taxes. We have had customers that have save thousands of dollars in taxes based on using our lists. We use a computer based donation program and we are a non biased third party evaluating your donations. At this point you have the option of having your valuables photographed for insurance purposes before anything leaves your home. If you have a disaster at your new home this in a fantastic document to have. Movers - If you have used a mover before and are happy with them we would recommend that you use them again. For many of our clients it has been a long time since they have moved or were unhappy with the movers they used. If this is the case, we can supply you with our recommended movers list. A to Y Organizing L.C. has spent a considerable amount of time researching, interviewing, and meeting with movers to assure our clients have movers they can be comfortable using and will do a good job for them.
